About This BMI Calculator
This is a free BMI Calculator that works with both Metric Units (centimeters and kilograms) and US Units (feet, inches, and pounds). Enter your height and weight, and Alisa will show your BMI and which range it falls into, with a short note about what it means.
How Is Your BMI Calculated?
We use the standard BMI formulas, in line with the World Health Organization (WHO) and Calculator.net. With metric units, your weight in kilograms is divided by your height in meters squared. With US units, your weight in pounds is multiplied by 703 and then divided by your height in inches squared.
A quick note: BMI is a simple screening number that gives a rough idea of where your weight sits for your height. It can't tell muscle from fat, and it doesn't account for bone density or how body fat is spread out at different ages, so treat it as a starting point only. For advice about your own health, please talk to a doctor or another medical professional.
